“I originally met Fariya through my work, It was at that point that she explained to me about the Feldenkrais method because I wasn’t familiar with it at all before.

I was intrigued and decided to come and have an appointment with her. I’ve been coming for I think about three years now. As a stylist, because I do a lot of repetitive motion with my hands and arms, I was starting to experience some early like fatigue and whatnot in my joints and ligaments and so I was really worried about what that would mean for the long run, so I feel by having the treatments and doing some stretching and some work on my own that I’ll be able to have a little more longevity in my career.

Fariya often shows me some movement lessons of things that I could take home and do on my own. So a lot of that I tend to practice later on in the evening after long days of work when I’ve felt that tension and the tightness sort of creeping up and yeah, I tend to do a lot of it at night time, like, right before bed and then sort of feel everything go back into its normal state and the tension releases and, yeah, I feel the pain slip away and ready to start another day tomorrow.

I definitely think that especially for people that do have injuries or even careers where they kind of are in repetitive motion that I do feel that the treatment, you get the benefits of and they last longer than typical massage therapy or chiropractor.”
